The Project Officer - Native Vegetation Regulation will work in a multi-disciplinary team to support and promote the consistent implementation of the vegetation clearing regulations within the department, local government, duty holders and stakeholders. The purpose of this role is to contribute to service excellence in policy and strategy, planning and support delivery of environmental regulation and compliance programs and to contribute to a high performing culture.

The Project Officer will also work in collaboration with the native vegetation regulation team in promoting the awareness and consistent application of native vegetation removal regulations. The Project Officer will gather information about the implementation of the regulations and support the oversight of the regulatory framework, statutory obligations and policy settings for the control of native vegetation removal.  The role will also work closely with the regional Environmental Compliance Unit and local councils to manage and support the delivery of high quality community-centred approach to place-based service delivers.

This is a fixed term position for a period of 18 months.
