ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Manager, Ticketing Operations leads the strategic direction, performance and optimisation of Museums Victoria's ticketing function, ensuring accurate, reliable, and customer centred ticketing services. The role manages end-to-end ticketing operations, including ticketing system administration, event builds, ticket inventory management, sales channel coordination, revenue collection and reporting, and operational support to internal teams.
The position is accountable for leading the strategic and operational performance of the ticketing function, including team leadership, system governance, revenue integrity and customer experience outcomes. It oversees the integrity, performance and compliance of the ticketing system, acts as the central advisory point and key liaison across ticketing operations, digital, marketing, finance and frontline teams, and drives continuous improvement across ticketing processes and systems. The role also provides expert advice and insights to senior management to inform decision-making relating to ticketing performance, revenue optimisation and customer experience.
Some of the key duties include:
- Lead, manage and develop the ticketing team, setting performance expectations and building organisational capability
- Oversee ticketing system governance, ensuring optimisation, configuration integrity and effective vendor performance
- Manage event builds, pricing, promotions, inventory and ticket configurations across all sales channels
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate event information and streamlined customer purchasing pathways
- Deliver reporting, insights and analysis on sales performance, customer behaviour, system performance and risk to inform decision-making
- Lead ticketing-related projects and transformation initiatives, including system enhancements, integrations and process redesign
- Drive continuous improvement in ticketing operations through innovation, best practice and improved customer experience outcomes
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated experience managing ticketing operations in a medium-large venue, events environment, cultural institution or similar
- Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to develop, support and motivate teams
- Advanced understanding of ticketing systems, including configuration, event builds, pricing, inventory and reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work across multiple business areas
- Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting complex data to generate insights and recommendations
- Experience managing ticketing vendors or external system partners, including service performance and issue resolution
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to service improvement, strategic initiatives or operational transformation
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a Full time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is a VPS 5.2 Base salary of $124,888 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
