The Senior Planner provides high quality advice and service to the Minister for Planning in relation to planning, development and land use matters and is an integral part of the Planning Group.  The Group is responsible for providing statutory services to deliver the Minister for Planning's responsibilities in relation to the assessment of permit applications, planning scheme amendments, and other requirements of planning legislation and instruments.

The Senior Planner works within the Development Approvals and Design Branch assessing development approvals where the Minister for Planning is the responsible authority and specifically focuses on the statutory responsibility of managing all aspects of planning permit applications, including liaising with stakeholders and input to the department's data/information systems. A tertiary qualification in urban planning is mandatory.

This is a fixed term – flexible position for a period to 1 March 2019.
