Position Details

Lead the development and implementation of negotiations on large scale renewable energy projects on behalf of DELWP.

The Department & Division

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) is tasked with ensuring that Victoria has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities.

The Energy Commercial Projects division leads the on time and on budget delivery of projects and programs across Victoria's energy portfolio, facilitating the implementation of the Victorian Renewable Energy Target (VRET).

The Role

This position will lead the development of negotiations strategy and act as the lead negotiator for key energy related commercial engagements. The role will project manage cross functional DELWP teams in the development of complex offer development and negotiations, including managing negotiation issues to closure and driving internal consensus on key issues related to pricing and business and legal terms and conditions. This role will act as a key advisor to both the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change and the DELWP leadership team.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in leading large scale, strategic commercial negotiations between the government and commercial sectors (through to closure), ideally within an energy or major Infrastructure related setting.

An executive level leader, you will have significant experience in facilitating creative problem solving strategies, with expertise in strategic planning and consultation in a complex deal setting.
