 Victoria is reforming the way it manages its forests and we are looking for a Policy Officer who can directly contribute to this. The Policy Officer within the Forest Policy and Planning will lead change, reform practices and help Victoria create and modernise high quality forest policy. for the Forest Policy and Planning unit. This role will apply strong technical content knowledge, conduct complex research and analysis and support the creation of policy, strategic advice and legislative instruments.

You will be able to identify emerging complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop innovative solutions and options.

For this reason, candidates must have policy development skills, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; coupled with an analytical mindset with a natural inclination to solve problems. Tertiary qualifications in forest or environmental science, economics, public policy or another relevant degree is an advantage.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years.
