The Engagement Coordinator – Forest Reform Project is part of the Community & Partnership Programs Branch of the Barwon South West and Grampians Regions and is responsible for leading the planning and delivery of comprehensive ‘at place' engagement with Victorian communities to support the modernisation of Victoria's Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs) and forest management system. In addition to renewal of Victoria's five RFAs, this also includes: development of a vision for the future management of Victoria's forests; reform of environmental regulation of timber harvesting operations; and refreshing forest management planning, including greater integration with fire planning.

The role will support a partnership approach to delivery of the RFA Modernisation Program and future forest and fire management with Traditional Owners. It will lead engagement with partners, stakeholders and local communities, facilitating an inclusive approach that enables anyone interested in the future of our forests to have an opportunity to share their views. It will also work with other engagement specialists across Forest Fire and Regions to co-design an approach to regional engagement that respond to the needs of a broad range of communities and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Regional Manager Community and Partnerships Program, this role will suit someone with extensive experience in engagement in a complex and contested environment. Experience in designing and/or facilitating engagement processes that support structured decision-making, including deliberative engagement, would be advantageous.  

This is a fixed term position, available for a period of 18 months.
