Position Details

We are building an inclusive workplace to help realise the potential of our employees, embrace our differences, and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivering services to Victorian communities. All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

As the Legal Practice Coordinator, you will hold a diverse and rewarding role in providing essential support to the efficient coordination and administration of the Department's in-house legal practice.

Your past experience, either in a legal role or in a high level administrative/ secretarial / executive assistant role, will lend itself to this position, as you have combined great customer service delivery with leadership in the development and take-up of appropriate processes and systems, ensuring a very high integrity of data management and business reporting.  We will be relying on your technical expertise or self-taught IT confidence and analytical skills in extrapolating and interpreting our business performance data and in administering our matter management systems.

Having a ‘sharp' mind and being able to learn and master new systems will see you succeed in this role.  You have a demonstrated history of having an energetic approach to your work, as well as showing great initiative to get the job done.  Not only do you rely on working within set processes and procedures, but you also develop and enhance them.  You have a common-sense approach to your work and your interactions with your team members.  You have made excellent judgement calls in the past, because not only have you relied on your professional skills, but also your professional intuition – both are utilised hand in hand.

You have achieved a Super Hero status of being organised - your team can rely on you and you are not afraid to take the lead when asked to.  Your team members are your customers, as are other internal divisions across the department –  therefore you have an exceptional customer service focus and exceptional written and oral communication skills. You want to be a part of a high performing in-house legal practice that you have contributed to.

Please refer to the attached Position Description for the entire Key Selection Criteria that are to be addressed. We will have high regard towards applications with experience within an in-house legal practice, and in a practice coordination role, but this is not essential.

This is an ongoing position.

To be considered for this position, your application should include a supporting statement demonstrating that you meet the key selection criteria and any job requirements specified in the position description.

Applications close at midnight, Sunday 16 December 2018.
