ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Business Systems Administrator (Ticketing) ensures the effective management, performance, and continuous improvement of Museums Victoria's Ticketing System. The role provides specialist expertise that translates business needs into system functionality, supports operational and strategic objectives, and enables accurate, reliable, and efficient ticketing outcomes across the organisation.
The position is accountable for ensuring the Ticketing System operates securely, accurately, and in alignment with organisational and governance requirements. This includes managing configuration integrity, applying pricing and business rules, monitoring system performance, and ensuring data accuracy across integrated environments. The role provides authoritative technical guidance, supports system enhancement and optimisation, and translates operational and strategic requirements into effective system design, ensuring the system remains efficient, compliant, and responsive to organisational needs.
Some of the key duties include:
- Administer, configure, and maintain the Ticketing System infrastructure and software applications, including system settings, lifecycle management, user access control, and governance processes.
- Manage ticketing product configuration and lifecycle, including creation, updates, pricing structures, scheduling, and deactivation.
- Support system design and enhancement activities by coordinating requirements, contributing technical knowledge, and assisting with implementation of approved changes.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure system configuration and outputs reflect business requirements and system constraints.
- Identify opportunities to improve system functionality, streamline processes, and optimise system performance.
- Act as the day-to-day contact for the Ticketing System Vendor, coordinating updates, issue tracking, testing activities, and future planning.
- Oversee revenue, reporting, and data integrations to ensure accurate data capture, processing, and outputs.
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated experience managing and optimising complex ticketing systems, including system configuration, governance, data structures, and troubleshooting.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective system design, configuration, and operational improvements.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and document system governance processes, configuration standards, training resources, and project plans.
- Applied knowledge of relational data structures, system integrations, and the ability to write and interpret SQL queries to validate data accuracy and investigate issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and support teams to deliver agreed outcomes.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a Full time, Ongoing position. The salary on offer is a VPS4.1 Base salary of $97,955 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
