Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Maternity Ward

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Midwife / General Nurse with previous Maternity experience to join the management team within the Maternity Unit at Echuca Regional Health as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing maternity, paediatric and surgical patients.
  • Assisting with care of antenatal intrapartum and postnatal patients
  • Supporting  the development of student midwives
  • Taking on a portfolio
  • Support the NUM in providing an effective, high quality and financially efficient service
  • Lead and support nursing staff providing clinical oversight
  • Collaborative team approach to ensure patient management and patient flow is optimized
  • Coordinate resources for each shift including staff allocation and work flow to achieve best possible outcomes for patients

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Qualifications in Maternity care and level 3 FSEP attainment
  • Proven experience as a Clinician
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conflict resolution
  • A professional manner at all times
  • A strong team focus and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A keen interest in learning and developing new knowledge and skills

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and Working with children check prior to appointment.
