Associate Nurse Unit Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to take the next step in their career and join the management team within the Rehabilitation Ward as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager. 

Echuca is proud of this innovative service, which combines contemporary inter-professional practices and fantastic patient outcomes in a brand new state of the art rehabilitation unit. 

The Rehabilitation Ward provides care for patients in four care types: Rehab, GEM, TCP and Palliative Care and therefore ensures a diverse and dynamic working environment. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the NUM in providing an effective, high quality and financially efficient service
  • Lead and support nursing staff providing clinical oversight
  • Collaborative team approach within a multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinate resources for each shift including staff allocation and work flow to achieve best possible outcomes for patients

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach, is highly motivated and well organized
  • A professional manner at all times
  • Knowledge of discharge planning process
  • Knowledge of National Standards and quality improvement process

This position requires people who are motivated and driven, and who have demonstrated skills and experience in leadership.  The ANUM will also be allocated as Key Contact Person for patients within the unit, thus enhancing patient centred care and communication, and enabling effective and timely discharge planning. 

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check prior to appointment.
