Position Details

AV is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to provide expert financial analytical support to the organisation to support the development and implementation of a robust budget, costing and forecasting process at AV.

 

About the role

Based out of our Doncaster office and reporting to the Planning and Corporate Finance Manager, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the design and development of effective, complex costing models (and undertake associated costing / financial analysis) for budget and forecasting collation / allocation / analysis, tender evaluations, pricing reviews, activity based costing, EBA's and other business requirements
  • Contribute to the development, collation and review of AV's annual budget and mid-year budget review;
  • Contribute to the development, collation and review of AV's short and long term forecasting, including providing support in relation to forecasting methodology and process
  • In conjunction with Project Managers, undertake effective financial analysis of proposed projects, partnering with divisions to build financial models and provide forecasting of related revenue, capital and recurrent cashflows
  • Foster effective working relationships with Business Managers and divisional finance representatives, providing guidance and advice (in relation to costings, financial analysis and processes).

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with accounting and costing systems
  • Experience in management and reporting of financial issues in a large complex organisation.
  • Experience and exceptional skills in costing and financial analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity to ensure professional standards are maintained at all times and that confidential issues are handled sensitively.
  • Team skills to actively participate as a member of a team and move the team towards the completion of both team and individual goals.
  • Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria as required.
  • CPA Australia or ICAA membership.
  • Approved tertiary qualification in business, accounting or commerce.
