About the Role

Reporting directly to the AVS Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of strategising and executing commercialisation plans, leveraging your expertise to properl our innovations and IP assets into the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Capture: Identify, assess and secure technology commercialisation opportunities for AVR inventions through strategic IP license agreements.
  • Strategy Development: Spearhead strategy analysis and planning for the commercialisation of key AVR IP assets, ensuring impactful market entry and growth.
  • Expert Advice: Deliver high-level commercial, IP, and contract management insights to support public-private Research and Innovation collaborations and technology licensing ventures.
  • Investment Evaluation: Enhance the commerical value of Department R&D inventions through robust financial modelling and project management, accelerating their adoption by the private sector.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with AVS and AVR to drive continuous improvement in IP management and commerciailsation, fostering innovation and efficiency.

About You

To propel AVS's growth, we're seeking a dynamic and experienced commercialisation specialist with a proven track record in:

  • Commercialisation opportunity identification and assessment
  • IP commercialisation strategy development and implementation (including IP protection and technology valuations). 
  • Developing, structuring, negotiating, and managing commercial IP license agreements or contractual R&I arrangements
  • Market validation, commercialisation development and project planning and management.  
  • Writing commercialisation strategy, plans and proposals for funding and investment.

  • Have highly effective communication and people skills, with a proven track record in building relationships with scientific and business professionals at all levels.
  • Posses strong energy, drive and emotional intelligence for developing high-value AgTech partnerships.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Have the relevant qualifications in business and/or science.  
  • Have knowledge or experience in agriculture
