 Role Purpose

The Contracts and Intellectual Property (IP) Administrator plays a key role in administering AVS' IP portfolio which is deployed to maximise industry adoption and impact of Agriculture Victoria Research technology inventions.

The position requires an IP administrator with expertise and experience in supporting the administration of intellectual property portfolios comprised of patents, plant breeder's rights and trademarks.  The role administers AVS' databases and Inteum, AVS' IP portfolio management information system.   Tasks include supporting the design and delivery of contract and IP processes and systems; assisting the AVS team in managing and maintaining contractual agreements; and monitoring commercialisation obligations in Inteum.  Analysis of IP data including comprehensive reports around agreements, IP assets and revenue payments will also feature in this role.    

The role requires the ability to prepare quality briefs and correspondence for approval, to research and follow-up contractual issues with AVS' stakeholders, and to effectively support all staff and clients in contractual administration requirements.   The successful applicant will possess the ability to balance competing priorities and to effectively and professionally respond to urgent needs and requests with limited supervision.

A background in IP administration, legal services or experience with Inteum will be highly regarded.   The role will be based at AVS' new AgriBio office in Bundoora and is a fixed term (until December 2019) part time parental leave replacement contract.   A part time fraction of between 0.6FTE to 0.8FTE (including school hour arrangements if required) will be agreed with the successful applicant.
