The Senior Commercialisation Manager is a vital role within the company that provides critical expertise in IP commercialisation, commercial R&D collaboration and technology valuation and investment. Reporting to AVS' Chief Operating Officer the role requires an experienced commercialisation manager with:

  • Experience in relevant technology valuation and licensing
  • Experience in relevant patented IP strategy, protection and management
  • High-level communication skills, including the ability to foster executive-level relationships with      local and global commercial collaborators
  • Relevant qualifications in business and/or science

Key Competency 1: Proven ability and experience to conceive, devise and deliver effective IP protection and commercialisation strategies that solve for multi-dimensional technology route-to-impact challenges.

Key Competency 2: Significant knowledge and experience in IP management, including the development and deployment of patent portfolio filing and prosecution strategy (preferably in agricultural biosciences).

Key Competency 3: Relevant experience at a senior level in the commercialisation of patented technology rights, including technology market evaluation, IP licensing strategy; and commercial partner assessment and due diligence.

Key Competency 4: Application of analytical and conceptual skills for: (i) financial modelling of the market impact and value of new technologies; and (ii) devising sound investment propositions for early stage technology innovations.

Key Competency 5: Proven ability to structure, negotiate and secure effective technology (IP) commercialisation licence agreements.

Key Competency 6:  Proven ability to negotiate, structure and secure contract, sponsored or collaborative R&D agreements with major commercial entities, including maximising partnership benefits and the effective management of risks through the life of the agreement

Key Competency 7: Proven ability to engage effectively at a senior level with large, major public and private sector entities. To work effectively in a team environment providing  leadership where required, supporting and mentoring fellow staff members.
