Position Details

The Building Auditor (Energy Efficiency) has primary responsibility for delivering technical knowledge and application to the inspection, assessment and reporting of building issues for the VBA's Improving As-built compliance energy efficiency Building Audit Project. This position supports the Team Leader, Building Audit to ensure the operational function is being carried out with technical accuracy.

 

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of energy efficiency principles, the building industry regulatory framework, regulations and standards in Victoria and/or other Australian jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting site inspections in a regulatory environment.
  • Experience in, or good understanding of, public sector/Government administrative processes, interpretation of legislation and the statutory obligations of the Victorian Building Authority are desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality advice, and build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the ability to influence to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for generating workplace innovation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and taking responsibility for initiating outcomes.

Salary Details

Base salary in the Grade 5 range of $93,867 – $113,572 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on skills and experience.
