Position Details

Hospital pharmacist leave cover position

  • This is a newly created position that will enable the department to continue to function when pharmacists take leave 
  • The position will require knowledge and abilities across the various areas of pharmacy services provided by the department

Applications are sought from suitably qualified pharmacists with previous hospital pharmacy experience to work in the pharmacy department at Echuca Regional Health. 

Key responsibilities include:

Echuca Regional Health is seeking a Grade 2 Pharmacist who wants to grow and develop their career.  Applicants should be highly motivated with a good work ethic.  They will be able to perform well in a team and communicate effectively with patients and staff.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate their interest in professional development.  

You will work closely with a team of pharmacists and technicians who are committed to delivering patient focused services to Echuca Regional Health. A strong commitment to team work, flexibility and organisation skill is essential to deliver high quality patient focused pharmaceutical care. 

Your duties will include:

  • Timely and accurate dispensing of prescriptions for outpatients, inpatients and patients for discharge
  • Provide drug information to health care professionals and to patients where appropriate
  • Contribute to stock control and claiming of medications
  • Contribute to weekend and after hour services when required
  • Promote medication safety
  • Participate in quality use of medication projects, audits and dispensary base quality assurance activities 

Key Qualifications/experience should include:

  • Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
  • Current Victorian/New South Wales drivers licence is essential.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Sound oral and written communication skills 

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Dispensary management
  • Clinical pharmacy services for inpatients

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check prior to appointment.
