A rare leadership opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional who has high level of knowledge and experience in hospital Central Sterile Services Departments (CSSD). This is a great chance to use your specialised skills in a senior role. We are seeking a candidate who meets Grade 5 Instrument Technician EBA requisites. Aspiring candidates whose application exhibits an aptitude for leadership and a strong focus on sterilisation services compliance, may be considered if evidence of their progression toward meeting Grade 5 requisites is demonstrated.

The position: Ongoing, 40.0 hours per fortnight

The Senior Instrument Technician will oversee the day to day running of the CSSD and work proactively and in collaboration with the Perioperative leadership team to ensure the needs and services of our consumers are met. To be successful in this role, you will provide effective leadership, direction and supervision to the instrument technician team ensuring appropriate departmental policies and procedures are in place and followed and that compliance with sterilisation standards is consistently achieved. Your expertise will support an exciting new CSSD project.

Flexibility to work 8-to-10-hour shifts is required to meet the roster requirements.

Key criteria required:

• Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services
• 4 years' experience as an Instrument Technician (fulltime equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability to work in all areas of CSSD at an advanced level and provide leadership
• Proven ability to prioritise competing issues and negotiate timeframes, while still providing a quality customer service
• Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
