Position Details
We are seeking enthusiastic, vibrant and creative Cooks to join our Food Services team! If you have commercial cooking experience and are looking for a varied and interesting work environment this is the ideal position for you.
The Position: Casual Contract
In this role you will work as part of a large team within the BRHS Food Safety Plan and the Healthy Choices guidelines to ensure the provision of a first-class food service to the hospital community. It is essential that our cooks have a good understanding of the Food Safety Plan and the special dietary needs of patients and clients to ensure a high standard of food and beverage services are delivered. Applicants require availability to work a range of shifts as required, across 7 days a week including public holidays.

Key selection criteria:
- Minimum Certificate lll in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum Current Safe Food Handling Certificate and demonstrated knowledge of Food Safety Programs and HACCP compliance.
- Knowledge and ability to cook and prepare meals for clients with special dietary requirements and follow recipes.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.

The Department:
Our Food Services department produces and delivers a range of catering and food services that meet the needs of our patients, aged care residents, clients, visitors and staff. In addition to our internal patient service, a cafeteria day service is provided to staff and visitors as well as catering for meetings/functions and participation in the local community meals on wheels program.
