STATUS:            Ongoing, Part Time

HOURS:             40.0 hours per fortnight

DEPARTMENT:   Rotamah Medical, Paediatric and Palliative Ward


A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse with excellent leadership qualities to join our Rotamah leadership team in this ongoing role.

As an ANUM for our Rotamah team you will play an integral role in providing effective leadership and clinical expertise to team members, providing excellence in nursing care and supporting the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure best practice clinical care is delivered. 

Rotamah is a 17 bed unit which facilitates care for medical, paediatric, palliative and midwifery clients.  A mixture of Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses staff the ward and work with Allied Health Professionals and in close partnership with our medical workforce.  In 2020, BRHS will be developing a new family birth centre at the acute campus, and enhancements to our existing ward, providing an exciting venture for our Rotamah nursing workforce to be part of.


The ideal applicant will have:

  • A minimum of two years' recent clinical experience in paediatric nursing.
  • Experience in team leadership and care co-ordination.
  • Experience in palliative care nursing is highly desirable.
  • Current competence in accessing and de-accessing PICCs and Ports.
  • Well-developed high acuity nursing skills with a good understanding of and commitment to providing patient centred care.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and care planning skills including a good understanding of principles of escalation of care.
  • A demonstrated understanding and ability to facilitate patient flow and early discharge planning.
  • Well-developed decision making skills with the capacity to determine the best course of action in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to remain flexible, open and composed in difficult situations.
