Position Details

The EGCBI Program is a co-operative collaboration between Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, Central Gippsland Health Service, Macleod St Medical Centre (Bairnsdale), Clocktower Medical Centre (Sale), Cunninghame Arm (Lakes Entrance) and additional key community sites across the region, to support the placement of medical interns based in East and Central Gippsland.

Part Time (40 Hours Per Fortnight)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive professional to undertake this rewarding role coordinating the East Gippsland Based Internship Program.

In this role you will provide day-to-day management and coordination of the program, including the recruitment, placement, orientation, training and pastoral care of the interns. This position will be filled by an individual with demonstrated administration, program management or education experience. You will be responsible for all facets of the program administration and will provide strong support to the Director of Community Clinical Training.

This position is based at Bairnsdale, working across Bairnsdale and Sale, with Bairnsdale Regional Health Service as the employer. This role is to be worked over 40 hours per fortnight with the hours being flexible and negotiable. The position will require travel, attendance at meetings/events outside standard working hours and availability to be contacted after hours.

This role is currently funded until the end of February 2020 with a strong liklihood of the continuation of funding.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented professional with:

  • A qualification (minimum diploma) in Human Resources, Management, Education or a Health profession required.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills, to effectively liaise, and achieve desired outcomes with independent contractors including medical workforce coordinators, senior staff in general practices and rural hospitals, and local and state government bodies.
  • Proven skills in the provision of human resource management with experience in recruitment and workforce management in a lead role. 
  • Proven capacity to lead and coordinate a cohesive and well-functioning small team.
  • Well developed administrative skills, with a high degree of attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple tasks.
  • Well developed budget management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Exceptional project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • High level computer skills including Word, PowerPoint and very high level Excel and database maintenance and data extraction skills
  • Current Drivers licence, and willingness to work after hours at different sites as required by the program
  • Relevant experience and training in the Medical education sector is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of the medical workforce environment and the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors is highly regarded
