We are currently seeking qualified Midwives to join our Midwifery Team to provide safe midwifery and nursing care that achieves quality maternal and neonatal outcomes. As a midwife at BRHS you will work in the Rotamah ward, being our primary midwifery service.  Rotamah is a 17 bed Midwifery, Paediatric, Palliative and General Medical ward, providing a diverse mix of patient care requirements.  Midwives, Registered and Enrolled Nurses work together to provide excellent care for the whole client cohort, with midwives overseeing the maternity care and nurses overseeing the general, paediatrics and palliative care. 

Applicants will be remunerated accordingly up to the Clinical Midwife Specialist classification based on qualifications, experience and current classification.  Base salary will range from Year 5 $76,195 - $90,828 per annum as applicable.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife. 
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a range of midwifery settings
  • Proven competency and minimum level 2 qualification in fetal surveillance is mandatory.
  • Proven competency in all areas of the pregnancy and birth care, and the proven ability to operate confidently across antenatal, Intra partum and postnatal services.
  • The ability to problem solve, apply the escalation of care principles and be able to facilitate the escalation of care process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to providing patient centred care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of legislation relevant to midwifery practice
