Ongoing, Full Time Nursing role – ANUM Dialysis/RN role


BRHS is offering a combined nursing role:

Dialysis Associate Nurse Unit Manager 48.0 hours per fortnight

Registered Nurse role 32.0 hours per fortnight in Medical/Surgical, Renal or Emergency (depending on your area of expertise)

A great opportunity exists for an experienced Dialysis Nurse with excellent leadership skills to join our Dialysis leadership team and provide nursing support to other areas of the health service related to your skills and experience.

The BRHS Dialysis Unit assists local and visiting renal patients in maintaining quality of life by receiving haemodialysis in a modern and friendly environment.  The BRHS Dialysis Unit currently has a nine chair capacity and operates six days a week with both morning and afternoon shifts. Our dialysis department is a satellite unit of Austin Health; it is serviced by two visiting Nephrologists and provides support for home dialysis patients in the region (peritoneal and haemodialysis).

The ideal candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of three years recent clinical experience in Renal Dialysis nursing with a good understanding of and commitment to providing patient centred care.
  • Experience in team leadership and care co-ordination.
  • Current competence in accessing and de-accessing PICCs and Ports.
  • Well-developed decision making skills with the capacity to determine the best course of action in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to display compassion and communicate effectively with a range of people.
  • Solid experience in an additional nursing discipline such as medical/surgical or Emergency.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and care planning skills including a good understanding of principles of escalation of care.
  • A demonstrated understanding and ability to facilitate patient flow.
