Position Details

Development Program for Grade 2 Year 2 Registered Nurses

STATUS: 12 months Fixed Term – 18/01/21 – 16/01/22

HOURS: 48.0 hours per fortnight

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses who have recently completed their graduate year (and who will be a Registered Nurse Grade 2 Year 2 in 2021) to participate in this excellent development program at BRHS.

The Program:

The BRHS Registered Nurse Transition Program provides a great opportunity for nurses to consolidate their nursing skills and strengthen their knowledge and practice in their allocated departments.  The Registered Nurse Transition Program operates over 12 months and consists of two rotations within the nursing directorate.  A range of nursing areas (including specialist nursing units) are available. These may include Medical and Surgical, Rehabilitation, Paediatrics & Palliative Care, Emergency, Theatre, Aged Care, Oncology, Dialysis and Home Based Services.  Allocations will be confirmed at a later date.

The Role:

Transition nurse contracts will consist of a minimum of 0.6 eft and will include 4 study days aimed at developing leadership, communication, clinical supervision and quality improvement skills to assist transition to requirements of registered nurses employed in permanent positions.  As a transition nurse you will consolidate your technical and non-technical nursing skills and contributing to, and providing excellence in nursing care in your allocated area.

What you need:

To perform this role you need to be a Registered Nurse, have completed a Nurse Graduate Program and have recent nursing experience.  We are looking for proactive nurses who have a commitment to providing patient centred care, good clinical assessment and care planning skills and a good understanding of their scope of practice as a year 2 nurse.
