In this role you will be committed to providing excellence in care to our frail, elderly residents of Maddocks Gardens ensuring a safe, secure and happy living environment.  You will assist residents with activities of daily living whilst encouraging them to maximise their potential for independence and quality of life. 

Maddocks Gardens is a purpose built 90 bed complex combining high, low and respite care residential services. The facility includes Bluegum, a 30 bed mixed high/low care unit, Banksia, a 28 bed low care unit and Sutherland Lodge, a 32 bed dementia specific unit.

As a casual Health Care Worker you will work across all areas of Maddocks Gardens in a variety of shifts.   Shifts will range from 4 to 8 hours in duration and be worked across 7 days per week including weekends and public holidays.    Shifts are remunerated accordingly, with penalty rates paid for afternoon and nightshifts, 50% loading on weekend shifts and 150% loading on public holidays.   Please specify your availability when applying for these roles.

Key selection criteria:

  • A minimum of Certificate 3 in Aged Care or Individual Support
  • Proven ability to provide a high level of person centred care in a proactive manner
  • Empathy and compassion for the elderly with a willingness and ability to advocate for their best interests
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with a wide range of people, including co-workers, health professionals, residents and family members
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to successfully prioritise tasks
