STATUS:           Ongoing, Part Time roles up to 72 hours per fortnight negotiable

The Position:

The Team:

The BRHS Emergency Department provides trauma and emergency healthcare to the population in the Bairnsdale area and the wider East Gippsland region. The department includes a 5 bed Short Stay Unit and an Emergency Nurse Practitioner operating out of a fast track treatment area.  Medical staffing is comprised of ED SMO's with strong support from HMO's, interns on rotation and the VMO community.  Our environment is supportive, knowledge-rich and innovative, providing the ideal place to take the next step in your career. 

What you need:

  • Extensive clinical experience  with a minimum of 5 years experience in emergency and/or critical care nursing
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Nursing or critical care nursing
  • Experience in Emergency team leadership and co-ordination of emergency care
  • Demonstrated competence in High Acuity and Emergency Department Nursing including advanced skill and knowledge managing intensive care patient demographics & advanced health assessment capabilities  
  • Proven ability to respond appropriately and prioritise accordingly in pressure situations
  • Models and provides strong and positive leadership in the ED providing senior clinical nursing support and guidance to all team members
