The Role:

The BRHS Perioperative Unit is a significant component of the BRHS Surgical Services department and provides a range of elective, emergency, and endoscopic services. The Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the development and management of a high performing team of approximately 40 nursing and technical staff covering the areas of operating rooms, CSSD and DPU.  The Perioperative NUM will provide professional and clinical support and effective leadership to achieve the delivery of a high standard of patient centred care, and high staff engagement and wellbeing, while balancing the organisation's strategic and business goals.

What you need:

  • Current AHPRA registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' clinical experience
  • A post-graduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing
  • Experience leading nursing and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to utilise contemporary clinical approaches to facilitate peri-operative efficiency and high standards of evidence based care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management principles and experience gained in a lead role of a change project. 
  • Experience in people management and leadership with the ability to effectively develop, engage and lead a high functioning team of health professionals.
