Position Details

HOURS:    48.0 hours per fortnight, Ongoing

                 48.0 hours per fortnight, Fixed Term until end of January 2023

UNIT:       Dialysis Day Unit

The Position:

In this role you will be part of our committed team, using evidenced based practice to provide the full spectrum of care to ensure haemodialysis treatment occurs according to each patients care plan.  You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge in this speciality field. 

The Unit:

The BRHS Dialysis Unit assists local and visiting renal patients in maintaining quality of life by receiving haemodialysis in a modern and friendly environment.  The BRHS dialysis is a satellite unit of Austin Health; it is serviced by two visiting Nephrologists and provides support for home dialysis patients in the region (peritoneal and haemodialysis).

Key Requirements are:

  • Registration with AHPRA and recent acute nursing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the management of renal nursing patients.  Haemodialysis preferred but not essential if a commitment to obtaining competencies as a priority exists.
  • A good understanding of the needs of people with chronic disease
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
