Ongoing, Part Time 64.0 hours per fortnight

The Position:

The Maternity ANUM will play an integral role in shaping the new collaborative model of maternity care at BRHS helping to ensure the models goals are achieved.  This role will be responsible for supporting the functions of the Unit Manager by undertaking day to day coordination of the maternity services including the community based operations and providing clinical leadership and to the midwifery team. 

The Department:

The midwifery department at BRHS is a 4 bed unit encompassed within the Rotamah ward which also provides care to medical, paediatric and palliative clients.  The maternity unit has two birthing suites and an ante-natal assessment room and a maternity outpatient and community based service is also provided.  In 2019 BRHS gained Baby Friendly Accreditation which recognises excellence in care of mothers, babies and families.  Funding has been received for the development of a new family birthing centre at BRHS enabling expansion of the existing community focused model, to create a model of care that will provide choices for women and their families, creating an exciting time for the maternity team at BRHS.

What you need:

To perform this role, you need at least 4 years recent midwifery experience, proven leadership ability and highly developed interpersonal skills.  You will be highly clinically competent, have excellent problem solving skills and a commitment to delivering quality, safe care.  Management experience will be highly regarded.
