We are looking for an accomplished Dentist to provide general and emergency dental care to eligible public clients as well as providing leadership and clinical expertise to the dental practitioner team.  This rewarding role provides an opportunity to mentor and guide our dental team whilst enjoying a great work/life balance.

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service is a busy and progressive regional health service.  This role will give you the opportunity to develop your management skills by requiring you to use your leadership skills and expertise to provide direction and support to our dental team. Professional development is strongly supported by BRHS and you will be fully supported to utilise your full range of skills within your scope of practice.

The BRHS Oral Health Service consists of a modern well-equipped 6 chair surgery located within the Ross Street Campus. The program also offers dental outreach services under a sub-regional model with Omeo Hospital as well as operating a mobile chair to treat the local Aboriginal community.


The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Registration as a Dental Practitioner with AHPRA
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in current Victorian Public Dental programs
  • Excellent knowledge and competence in all aspects of general dental clinical practice, together with demonstrated commitment to maintain and update clinical knowledge
  • Proven record of carrying out a broad range of advanced and complex dental procedures.
  • Effective leadership skills with the proven capacity and interest in providing supervision and mentoring to dental practitioners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with co-workers and patients and liaise and network with professional and community groups
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines for clinical quality monitoring activities and audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and lead quality initiatives, clinical guidelines and pathways.
