Position Details

Applications are invited from experienced Dental Assistants interested in joining our dental team in a leadership role.  

Based in a modern and well-equipped six chair surgery at our Ross Street campus, you will provide leadership and support to the dental team to ensure high standard dental services are provided. 

Key responsibilities of this role include assisting the Oral Health Manager in the day to day running of the dental rooms, maintenance of surgery rooms/equipment and providing guidance and mentorship to dental team members.  Chairside assistance will also form a component of this role as required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting, Certificate IV is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as dental assistant in public/private sector
  • Excellent knowledge of the role of a dental assistant and infection control procedures
  • An approachable manner with communication and interpersonal skills of a high level.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively to meet established time frames.
  • Demonstrated professional behaviour and ability to motivate, coach and mentor a small, well-functioning team with a consumer-centred focus.
  • Proven ability to use initiative in challenging situations adopting a problem solving focus.
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook and an understanding of dental software systems.
