A fantastic opportunity exists at BRHS for a talented Occupational Therapist to further develop their skills and experience in a Grade 2 position in our regional public hospital.  With a strong organisational focus on professional development, you will expand your clinical and leadership skills within a supportive environment whilst also enjoying an amazing work/life balance living in beautiful East Gippsland.  Applicants with inpatient experience are preferred however Therapists with community experience will be considered.  

The Position:

Ongoing, Full Time, 80.0 hours per fortnight

This role will deliver Occupational therapy for clients that promotes, maintains and assists recovery and independence in all aspects of daily living, at home, work, and in the community. This role will have a primary focus on services to inpatient consumers of Bairnsdale Regional Health Service in acute or rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) clients. The position will provide supervision and support to Grade One staff, Allied Health Assistants (AHA) and students and play a pivotal role in supporting the Occupational Therapy Team Leader to facilitate innovative models of care.

What you need:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy with a minimum of 4 years' experience (preferred experience in inpatient acute, rehabilitation or GEM)
  • Ability to provide patient centred care and goal focused interventions in Occupational Therapy in an inpatient environment.
  • Pro-active, clear and concise communication skills which promote service and client interests.
  • Ability to participate as an effective and collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, contributing to care coordination and discharge planning.
