The Contract: Full Time, Ongoing role (Part Time considered)

The Position:

In this diverse role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing excellent leadership of the social work team to ensure the delivery of appropriate client centred interventions
  • Effective management of a high quality, cost effective, efficient and evidenced based social work service
  • Active involvement in the introduction and embedding of innovative, person centered models of care
  • Maintaining a clinical caseload, providing high quality and efficient interventions

The Department:

The social work department at BRHS provides a service for a diverse caseload in the acute and sub-acute units of our regional hospital in addition to services provided in dialysis, oncology and within the Health Independence Program (HIP). The primary role of the department is to facilitate discharge planning for patients and families within a multi-disciplinary framework.

Key requirements:

  • Experience as a senior Social Worker with a recognised degree in Social Work and evidence of eligibility for membership of AASW
  • Previous management experience or demonstrated interest in and ability to develop skills in the management of a team of health professionals
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership and build capability within a team to achieve person-centred health care in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated experience providing advanced clinical skills in person centred care and discharge planning for patients with complex needs.
