Position Details

Casual Opportunity

We are looking for qualified Dental Assistants interested in joining our dedicated and professional oral health team at BRHS in a casual role.

The Position:

In this role you will contribute to the provision of a high standard of dental care to eligible public patients by assisting in the day to day running of our busy dental practice including activities associated with sterilisation services, surgery, stock room management and oral health promotion. As a casual staff member you will provide support to the department to cover planned and unplanned absences of team members and enjoy the roster flexibility of a casual role.

The Department:

The Oral Health Clinic consists of a modern and well-equipped 6 chair surgery located within the Community Health Complex in Ross Street, Bairnsdale. The Clinic currently operates Monday to Friday during the hours of 8.00am –4.30pm and supports the Smile Squad program.

Key Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting course and previous work experience in a dental clinic
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills of a high level
  • A good understanding of the dental public health system
  • Ability to follow detailed written and oral instruction well
  • Ability to function as an effective member of a team of professionals
  • A sound understanding of infection control processes
