STATUS: Ongoing, Full Time
HOURS: 76.0 hours per fortnight
A rare opportunity for a motivated health professional is sought to join our Community Health team in this interesting and rewarding role.
The key responsibility of this role is to assist with the development and delivery of health promotion and health education programs for the local community in line with the EGPCP Integrated Health Promotion Plan and in collaboration with other partners. Health promotion will use a systems approach with a focus on the regional priority areas of healthy eating, physical activity and mental health.
Community Health Nursing at BRHS comprises a multidisciplinary team of nurses based at the BRHS Ross Street campus providing individual care, group activities and health promotion. The focus is on chronic disease, women's health, capacity building and prevention of disease. The Community Health Nursing service is responsible to the Director of Community Health and Wellbeing and provides timely services and general information to clients, patients and other BRHS departments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Tertiary Qualification in Health Promotion or a Health profession such as Nursing or an Allied Health discipline
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a community setting with recent experience in Health Promotion
- Experience and an aptitude for working effectively with schools and parent groups or other community groups.
- An understanding of the social model of health and its application to health promotion.
- Excellent presentation skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
