Position Details

This position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to use their clinical experience and knowledge to drive a culture of patient safety and support risk management at BRHS.

In this role you will support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of systems to improve patient safety and address clinical risk.  You will support a culture of patient safety by conducting thorough reviews of clinical incident reports using diagnostic tools as applicable and collaborating with key staff in the process.  The position will involve preparing meaningful reports for Clinical Governance committee meetings, including reviews and screening processes as directed.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate:

  • A good understanding of systems that support patient safety including a just culture and effective clinical incident investigation processes
  • Willingness to accept and adapt to change, and capacity to drive, implement and provide support for system change
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, engage, influence and collaborate with co-workers and other health professionals across disciplines to improve patient safety
  • Understanding of diagnostic tools and investigation methodology for incident management and addressing clinical risk such as Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with electronic systems, databases and incident management software (e.g. RiskMan).
  • Experience in data analysis and/or improvement training in a health setting would be an advantage
