Position Details
For the BRHS Pain Management Clinic
A recently established Pain Management Clinic at BRHS is seeking a GP Anaesthetist interested in providing a sessional service through this clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a valuable service making a difference to our community. The Position:
The General Practitioner Anaesthetist will be employed by BRHS as a valued team member of a multidisciplinary team. It is envisaged that the role will provide a fortnightly consulting session at the clinic. The successful applicant will be paid as negotiated and in accordance with the AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector - Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021, and will receive associated employee benefits such as, CME, leave and superannuation benefits.
Key role responsibilities include:
- 1:1 assessment of the client living with persistent pain, utilising the biopsychosocial model of care
- Participating in case conferencing sessions with the Interdisciplinary team
- Collaborating with Metropolitan health services as required & participation in the discharge process
The Clinic:
The Pain Management Clinic has been developed to provide a multidisciplinary approach for clients living with persistent pain. The team consists of a Coordinator, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Administration Support Officer. The Pain Management Clinic is a non-interventional clinic.
Selection Criteria:
- Current medical registration with AHPRA
- A minimum of 5 years clinical experience, including some experience in treating clients with persistent pain
- A genuine interest in providing a specialist service and improving the health and wellbeing of individuals with chronic pain
- Specialist qualifications and expertise relevant to the role are desirable
- Availability to provide the required consulting sessions from the clinic (in person rather than online preferred)
