A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Emergency Department Clinician to make a positive change in their community and further develop their project management skills in this Improvement Lead role.

The Contract:

Twelve months, Fixed Term, Full Time 80.0 hours per fortnight with ADO

The Position:

In this role you will undertake a comprehensive service review of current ED resources and systems to identify those required to effectively meet the current demands and future direction of the ED.  Key responsibilities of this diverse role will include:

• Establishing a structure and conducting an assessment of current practices within the ED
• Analysing, mapping and gathering feedback by collaborating and engaging with ED staff and key stakeholders
• Gathering data and feedback to support sustained changes in regards to ED service demands
• Developing ongoing measures to sustain quality improvement introducing revised processes

The Department:

The Emergency Department of the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service provides trauma and emergency healthcare to the people of Bairnsdale and the wider East Gippsland region. The department includes a 5 bed short stay unit and an Emergency Nurse Practitioner operating out of a fast track treatment area. Medical staffing is comprised of SMO's with support from HMO's and interns on rotation.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience working in an Emergency department of a health service
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
• Comprehensive understanding of models of care within Emergency departments
• Demonstrated project management experience or relevant skills such as policy development, reporting and quality improvement implementation
