Position Details

Part Time Ongoing, 45.5 hours per fortnight  

An opportunity has become available for a motivated individual with excellent customer service skills to join our frontline team. In this role, you will be predominantly based at the Main Reception desk providing a reception and telephony service managing the main hospital switchboard. You will also provide administrative support to the Emergency Departments by covering meal breaks and leave for the administration staff in these areas. Key to this role is the provision of outstanding customer service to patients, families, consumers and colleagues with a person-centred approach that is professional, approachable, responsive and compassionate at all times.

This position is worked on a rolling 7 day roster which includes the requirement to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as rostered. Shifts are remunerated accordingly, with shift allowances paid for afternoon and nightshifts, 50% loading on weekend shifts and 100% loading on public holidays.

Key selection criteria:

  • Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of customer interactions in a professional and consumer-focused manner
  • Well-developed written and spoken communication skills with a compassionate manner.
  • A competent user of MS Office with excellent keyboard and data entry skills and the proven ability to learn new software systems easily
  • The proven capacity to learn and adapt to different work areas in a proactive and positive manner, and be effective in a busy work environment.
  • A team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • A self-starter who is solution-focused and has the proven capacity to problem solve within the scope of the position.
