About Us
Court Services Victoria (CSV) provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
CSV supports the operations of the Courts Group and is governed by the Courts Council, chaired by the Chief Justice, the Hon Richard Niall.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, CSV, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer (DCEO & COO), is a senior executive role which will combine strategic leadership with accountability for operational performance, sustainability and continuous improvement of CSVs corporate and service delivery functions. The role supports the CEO of CSV and Courts Council to meet their statutory obligations and strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing authoritative strategic, operational and financial advice to the CEO, Courts Executive and Courts Council.
- Build strong relationships with jurisdictions, government and external stakeholders.
- Lead corporate and operational service delivery functions across CSV and drive reform, continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Ensure organisational and operational sustainability of CSV.
- Promote a respectful, value-based, culturally safe and high‑performance culture.
About You
- Demonstrates experience working at the senior executive level in courts, justice entities or other public purpose organisations with complex authorising environments.
- Engages meaningfully with, and influences diverse stakeholders on complex issues, to negotiate agreed outcomes.
- Makes decisions to strengthen performance and accountability, leading change with authenticity, credibility and a growth mindset.
- Makes critical strategic judgements and assess risks in the context of a complex and uncertain environment.
- Qualifications in law, public administration and financial management.
