About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

VCAT
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.
About the Role
Case Officer's play a critical role in supporting VCAT's case management, ensuring matters are jurisdictionally sound, procedurally complete, and ready for hearing.
In this role you will conduct jurisdiction checks, prepare cases and ensure all necessary documentation and procedural steps are completed efficiently. You will make administrative decisions in line with delegated Principal Registrar directions.
Using your exceptional skills with attention to detail, you will be:
- undertaking case preparation activities, ensuring evidence and supporting material are supported in accordance with procedural rules
- proactively liaising with applicants, respondents, legal representatives, and internal teams to resolve procedural issues prior to hearings
- maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records within VCAT's case management system
- contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- identifying and escalating cases with incomplete or non-compliant documentation for rectification
About You
If you want to support the delivery of Tribunal services in the community, this is a great role for you! You will be able to demonstrate:
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
- strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy
- experience using case management systems and digital workflows
- knowledge of VCAT's jurisdiction, legislation and procedural rules or ability to quickly aquire this knowledge
- a strong customer focus with a commitment to service excellence
