Position Details
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdictions own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
The Corporate and Internal Communications team supports leadership initiatives, manage intranet content, disseminate internal news, and oversee branding efforts while also contributing to the development of annual reports for the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to Court Service Victoria's Executive Director, Communications, the Corporate Affiars Director will provide strategic oversight of two key streams of work in a newly-consolidated Communications Team at CSV, with a focus on on digital communications and internal/corporate communications and engagement.
The role has two direct reports and will manage a team of approximately 12 employees.
The role will work with key stakeholders including the CSV CEO, the Courts Executive, and the wider Courts Group Executive team. The role will at times act for the Executive Director, Communications.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Expertly leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of the corporate and internal communications and digital communications functions.
- Delivering evidence-based improvements and high-quality outcomes for the infrastructure and content for digital channels across Courts Group including websites, intranet, and social media.
- Delivering high quality corporate communications across Courts Group including CEOs and executive messaging through emails, regular town halls and other ad hoc channels, as well as high quality, engaging content for staff.
- Providing authoritative, strategic advice and briefings to senior executives across Courts Group and maintain collegial relationships.
- Contributing to the strategic leadership the Courts Group by working closely with other executives and business areas to achieve strategic communications objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate experience at a senior level in digital and internal/corporate communications and engagement in a large and complex environment.
The role will call on your ability to work across a variety of fast-moving projects involving stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
The role will provide influential, expert advice and support on high-level communications and engagement matters, including issues and crisis management when required.
