Position Details
The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the Role
This lawyer role sits within the Civil arm of the Supreme Court Registry and will primarily support the Commercial Court.
We are seeking a lawyer with initiative and enthusiasm who will work with judicial officers, and with Principal and Senior Lawyers in the Registry.
Excellent communication skills are required as the role involves communicating with a diverse range of people.
Duties of the role will include:
- Preparing legal and factual summaries of cases;
- Supporting case management of matters, including providing legal and administrative support;
- Providing guidance to court users, judicial officers and court staff about court processes;
- Undertaking legal research and drafting correspondence and memoranda as required;
- Contributing to projects to improve court operations.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in law.
- Admitted to practice and post admission experience in civil litigation and/or in a court and/or tribunal environment is highly desirable.
