About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.
MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role
The Court Services Manager is a pivotal leadership role within the court, leading a multidisciplinary team that supports court users experiencing complex needs and vulnerabilities. Reporting to the Senior Registrar, you will provide strategic leadership, practice guidance and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, responsive and person-centred court support services.
Working in close partnership with local court leadership and Judicial Officers, you will drive the effective delivery of specialist programs, ensuring court users receive appropriate support while contributing to fair and informed court outcomes.
Drawing on your extensive experience in therapeutic service delivery, you will provide expert oversight of case management practices, family violence support services, risk and needs assessment processes, and the provision of authoritative advice to the court. You will champion best-practice approaches, coordinate specialist supports, and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery and community outcomes.
The role also plays a critical part in fostering a culturally safe, inclusive and supportive workplace. You will actively support Aboriginal staff and court users, maintain Aboriginal Cultural Awareness capability, and promote culturally responsive practices across the service.
About You
You will be an experienced people leader with a strong background in therapeutic service delivery, case management or complex client support environments. You bring:
- Proven experience leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of therapeutic, problem-solving or solution-focused approaches within the justice, health or community sectors.
- Understanding of family violence, victim and perpetrator interventions, and risk assessment frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.
- The ability to provide strategic advice, drive service improvements and deliver quality outcomes.
- A commitment to cultural safety, inclusion and public sector values.
- A tertiary qualification in law, psychology, social work, health or a related discipline is desirable, and/or significant experience in a comparable field (desirable).
