The County Court of Victoria is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears and determines criminal, common law and commercial matters. Our 70 Judges hear more than 12,000 cases per year across its three divisions. The County Court is committed to continuous improvement consistent with the International Framework for Court Excellence.

As an integral member of a newly formed team you will have responsibility for the development and implementation of practice improvement and professional development processes within the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) pilot at the County Court. CISP is a front end diversion program which offers a coordinated approach to the assessment and treatment of accused at the pre-trial or bail stage.  This service, which was previously only available in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, links accused to support services such as drug and alcohol treatment, crisis accommodation, disability services and mental health services. You will ensure that clinical practice within the pilot program aligns with current, evidence-based approaches to meeting the needs of people with complex and multiple support needs.

This role will be based at the County Court however, the role will be required to collaborate with Melbourne Magistrates' Court.

A particular focus for this role will be working closely with the County Court CISP project team and the Manager of Specialist Courts to develop the systems and processes that will deliver a successful CISP pilot for the County Court. To succeed in this role you will exhibit the ability to exercise sound judgement, work well in an environment with competing demands and possess high level written communication skills. Excellent organisational skills are essential as are well developed influence and negotiation skills.
