About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

CCV
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role
The Commercial Division at the County Court of Victoria consists of any proceeding involving disputes concerning debts, claims for damages, any property, trusts and some appeals. There are 5 lists in the Commercial Division:
- General List
- Banking and Finance List
- Complex Cases List, Building List and
- Arbitration List.
As a Registrar, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, not limited to managing document filings, managing the subpoena process, processing orders, and correspondence and responding to enquiries by phone and email. Once appointed as a Deputy Registrar of the County Court, you will also be required to perform legal, quasi-judicial and administrative functions as required under acts, rules and regulations, including the swearing of affidavits and certifying of documents.
In this role you will gain an in depth understanding of Court processes while working in a close-knit team that supports one another. You will engage with a broad array of stakeholders, not limited to judges and their associates, legal practitioners and the litigants themselves.
This role provides an excellent insight into Court procedure and commercial litigation, and has opportunities for progression.
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience:
- producing a range of complex business correspondence
- confidently conveying information to a wide-ranging audience in a clear and concise manner
- working to esure service delivery is of a superior standard whilst continually seeking to improve processes
- understanding the needs of stakeholders and able to negotiate with them effectively.
Experience working in a legal environment or the Victorian Court System will be highly regarded.
