Manager, Regulatory Advisory
- Make a difference to the lives of Children and Young People
- New role where you can have an immediate impact
- Leadership opportunity
The Commission is an independent statutory body established to promote continuous improvement and innovation in policies and practices relating to the safety and wellbeing Victorian children and young people generally.
The Commission is committed to providing a child safe and child friendly environment, where children and young people with whom we have contact are safe and feel safe, and able to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives.
The Regulatory Advisory Team receives and assesses reportable conduct allegations and where indicated, initiates and implements enforcement activities. Depending on the case, this can involve collaboration with Victoria Police and/or applying compliance monitoring tools to ensure a safe environment for children and young people. The team also plays a critical information sharing role, working across multiple relevant government agencies to ensure an integrated approach to child protection.
Where relevant, the team is responsible for reviewing investigations of other regulators and workplaces to ensure quality and procedural requirements are consistently met.
Reporting to the Director, Regulation, you will be responsible for a diverse team and be an active member of the Commission Leadership Team. You will have demonstrated people management experience across a range of advisory functions, as well as an ability to provide consistent and authoritative advice on managing reportable conduct allegations.
With your specialist knowledge of relevant law in the community services sector, as well as knowledge of the Child Wellbeing and Safety (Amendment) (Child Safe Standards) Act 2015, you will have proven stakeholder management expertise and a demonstrated history of providing high quality services. You will have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing and changing priorities and have a demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the Leadership team to achieve organisational objectives.
