The role

Reporting to the Manager, Inquiries and Engagement, the Team Leader, Engagement develops and implements the Commission's engagement framework to facilitate meaningful engagement with vulnerable children and young people, families, government departments and community organisations. The Team Leader, Engagement is accountable for:

  • the independent visitor program
  • management of enquiries to the Commission and;
  • other mechanisms to hear the voice of vulnerable children and young people.

The role also receives, responds and analyses complaints and enquiries and supports the broader organisation to identify trends and opportunities in policies, practices and services to drive continuous improvement.

Who are we looking for?

You have strong people management and program management experience with proven contemporary knowledge and expertise in child and youth engagement. You will have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively manage a fast paced environments with competing and changing priorities.

A key feature of this role is engaging with children and young people to understand their needs to enable the Commission to better advocate for their safety and wellbeing.

As travel is required for this role, applicants must have a valid driving licence.
