The role

In line with the 2013 ‘Betrayal of Trust' Inquiry report by the Family and Community Development Committee of the Victorian Parliament, the Victorian Government the Victorian Government has introduced two schemes to prevent child abuse in organisations and improve responses to allegations of abuse. The Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme began on January 2017 and 1 July 2017 respectively.

The Director Regulation will be responsible for:

  • completing the operational design, establishment and implementation of the Commission's new functions
  • leading operational delivery of the new compliance, enforcement and capacity building functions of the Child Safe Standards and reportable conduct schemes. 

As a member of the Executive Group, the Director Regulation will contribute to the Commission's strategic direction, oversight and leadership.

Who are we looking for?

You will have significant knowledge of the Victorian public sector and have substantial experience working in a regulatory environment. You will also have exceptional personal qualities including integrity, resilience and team work.

You will possess outstanding leadership and people skills with demonstrated ability to lead innovative strategic planning and program development that enables an organisation to meet its objectives. You will have the ability to self-manage, be creative and innovative and possess exceptional stakeholder management skills.
