The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The position sits within the Regulatory Advisory team. This team is responsible for reviewing responses to reportable allegations conducted by organisations, independent investigators and in some instances regulators, to ensure the responses meet requirements of the Reportable Conduct Scheme

About the opportunity

In this role you will:

  • Manage a caseload of Reportable Conduct Scheme cases, and support more senior staff to manage a caseload.
  • Review organisational responses to reportable allegations conducted under the Reportable Conduct Scheme (the Scheme) to determine if the responses meet the requirements of the Scheme.
  • As part of the review process, provide detailed and evidence-based advice and reasoned recommendations to the Manager, Regulatory Advisory and Director, Regulation to inform what Commission action is appropriate.
  • Support the Team Leader and Senior Case Managers by maintaining a focus on actively identifying, analysing, reviewing and responding to emerging issues and areas of risk.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders in order to facilitate effective implementation of the compliance framework.
  • Undertake data gathering and analysis tasks to support monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness of both individual cases and the case management system.
  • Maintain an understanding of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions.
