About the branch

The Infrastructure, Capital Projects Directorate is responsible for the delivery of a multi-million dollar suite of projects across the State that includes the construction of new facilities, delivery of major projects, and repair/replacement of existing assets and structures. These assets include roads, bridges, tracks, boardwalks, toilets, visitor centres, marine assets (including piers, jetties and sea-walls), services (including water supply, sewerage systems and power supply) and other visitor facilities. The Branch is also heavily involved in forward planning of initiative projects, providing advice and support to staff on project management, and the development of strategic initiatives that involve infrastructure. 


About the role and your responsibilities:  

The primary focus of the position is to develop and deliver robust communications strategies for major projects, ensuring the integration and of media relations with complementary activity, including community engagement, internal communications, stakeholder management and government relations. The role will ensure effective management of these internal stakeholders, as well as ensuring timely and effective responses to media opportunities. The role will also involve providing strategic communications advice to senior leaders and business areas regarding communications, and complex issues or changes.


To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrate a capacity for working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and building strong working relationships
  • An ability to proactively identify and advise on communication risks or opportunities as they occur
  • The ability to perform as a collaborative team player with positive attitude and approachable manner
